De fleste kender efterhånden historien om Lotte, plejehjemmet hvor Thyra Frank har været forstander i over 20 år.
Det er her de gamle har lov til at ryge og spise sovs og kartofler, hvor der er plads til en portvin til kaffen og hyggepianist til aftensmaden og hvor der er hjerterum til både medarbejdere, beboere og pårørende.

Arbejdsglæde er et voldsomt stort begreb, men i min verden består det af tusindvis små elementer. Kan vi flytte blot et eller 2 af de små elementer fra det negative til det positive - ja så er vi på vej.

.Man skal udvikle sig og huske at noget kan og skal hjælpes med medikamenter og at der er mennesker, der ikke klapper i hænderne af at kunne have halløj hver lørdag. Man skal også huske at beboerne selekteres til et privat hjem: og at det ikke er den almindelige venteliste, der bruges. Deres goder betaler de selv.
Og hvike 70+-årige er i stand til at have med tunge plejekrævende beboere at gøre, udover nogle få.
Hvordan rekrutterer man personale til Lotte, når de alligevel holder op af aldersmæssig årsag. Er det "bare" folk med hjertet på rette sted, eller skal der kvalifikationer både i form af viden og menneskekendskab/-kundskab/gerontologi med demens og andre lidelser til?? Lottes leder er god som inspirator, men egner sig ikke til at kopiere. Jeg vil opfordre andre ledere i ældresektoren til at lytte, mærke efter og finde sit eget tråd i det kommunale felt, deres job nu engang findes. Det er ikke håbløst, og jeg synes - desværre - Thyra Frank gør noget nar af andre ledere end hende selv.Dog uden direkte at nævne dem, for som hendes Far lærte hende:"-så er det ikke alle man taler hverken med eller om".
Det er et meget tankevækkende foredrag, og det er guf for sygeplejerske i ældre/plejesektoren at kunne udvikler sig og gøre brug af de nære ting. Jeg håber også Thyre Frank stadig udvikler sig, således som man gav hånd på, da elevtiden - nu studietiden var færdiggjort. Alt kan både gøres og blive bedre, bare man sorterer i mulighederne på arbejdsstedet og bruger det bedste.
Med det menneskesyn, der fremherskes på Lotte, så forstår jeg slet ikke valget af en "blå" stue på Tinge, for det at være lige, at være sammen og værne om hinanden, altid gøre noget i fællesskab, det er bestemt ikke boget for "upstairs-folket/herremandsvældet", med mindre man da kun vil have gamle tjenestefolk som Laura-typen til at gøre arbejdet og så selv tage æren, og det er jo netop det, Thyra Frank siger, hun ikke gør.
